The Partnership for Working Families (Partnership) is a national network of leading regional advocacy organizations who drive innovative solutions to our nation’s economic and environmental problems. Our powerful coalitions of community groups, labor unions, faith networks and environmental organizations tackle the crisis of inequality and climate change that disproportionately impact low-income neighborhoods, communities of color and women.
The Partnership and its six California affiliates are developing a strategic statewide network. Together, they are building long-term power for workers and communities in 6 critical regions of the state: Oakland/East Bay, Silicon Valley, the Central Coast, Los Angeles/Long Beach, Orange County, and San Diego County.
The Partnership is seeking a California Director to bring dynamic, visionary, and unifying leadership to guide our collective work, plan long-term and advance our current goals to:
● Build the power and capacity of CA Partnership affiliates to organize and raise standards for low-wage, immigrant workers through the next generation of policy campaigns which will increase wages, hours and access to fair scheduling practices.
● Advance organizing and policy campaigns to address the rise of contingent work, temporary work and part-time work in key industries where immigrant workers and vulnerable workers lack the voice and power to hold employers accountable for work conditions.
● Develop statewide collaboration with worker centers, labor unions, worker advocacy organizations and legal services advocates to push for greater accountability and enforcement of the rules and regulations which protect workers from retaliation, hazardous work conditions, discrimination and workplace violence including sexual assault.
● Strengthen our network in California by exploring and developing the appropriate infrastructure which will enhance the power and reach of our affiliates, support geographic expansion and aggregate our work for statewide impact.
