Our Work

Working Partnerships USA (WPUSA) is an independently funded social change organization founded by labor and community groups that equips everyday people to participate and win in developing a fair and free society.

Since its founding in 1995, WPUSA has tackled issues directly affecting working people and their families by building their capacity and ability to effectively represent their own interests and by helping them create alliances and partnerships that magnify the voice and impact of their movement.

Our goal is to compel government to act for the common good by making it more open, accessible and accountable; to achieve policy changes in the areas of jobs, health care, sustainability, housing and transportation that improve families' lives; and for our work to inspire, inform and shape national policy.

Our Focus

WPUSA works in four broad areas of concern to working people — health care, government accountability and reform, economic research and analysis, and organizing and leadership development — by developing policies, organizing and advocating for their adoption, developing leadership that empowers ordinary citizens, and connecting smaller groups in ways that enhance their effectiveness.
