STATEMENT: Partnership for Working Families Joins May Day Strikes

April 26, 2017 -- Jamie Way

NATIONAL – On May 1st, community members around the country will stand together in resistance to the Trump administration’s attack on immigrants and working people. Partnership for Working Families will be on strike and in the streets to demonstrate its solidarity and support for the acceptance and respect of all communities. Below is a statement from Partnership for Working Families Executive Director Nikki Fortunato Bas:

“Today, we join with thousands across our country in going on strike. We stand with our immigrant neighbors and friends and all working people to say attacks on the most vulnerable among us must end.

Instead of rebuilding our nation, the Trump administration has sought to divide us – metaphorically through hate and blame and physically through border walls and detention centers. We know that only together can we tackle the real issues plaguing our country to create a nation where we are all free to live up to our greatest potential. We recommit to that work together today.”
