Partnership for Working Families Statement on Puzder's Defeat
NATIONAL – Today Donald Trump's nominee for Labor Secretary, Andrew Puzder, withdrew his candidacy after it became clear he would not be approved. His withdrawal is the result of mounting pressure from working people across the country, who urged their Senators to oppose the Hardee's and Carl's Jr. executive. Below is Partnership for Working Families Executive Director Nikki Fortunato Bas’ statement:
"Today, working people won an important victory when Trump's Labor Secretary nominee withdrew. This demonstrates the power we have when we stand up for our communities and against the billionaire corporate agenda advanced by the Trump administration. Opposition to Puzder's nomination also underscores the unacceptability of harassing or demeaning women in the workplace or anywhere. We will continue to oppose any anti-worker, anti-woman, anti-progress nominee or policies the Trump administration puts forward."
